Imam Reza (AS) holy shrine sees 1st drum-beating ceremony in Nowruz 2023

First Naqareh (drum-beating) ceremony in the new Persian calendar year has been held in the courtyard of Imam Reza's (AS) holy shrine.

The special drum-beating ceremony is commonly held for major national and religious events at Naqarekhaneh tower which is a tall tower near the holy shrine of Imam Reza (AS).

The event was attended by massive crowds who came to witness the spectacular event and pay their respects to Imam Reza (AS), the eighth Shia Imam.

The ceremony begins with the beating of large drums that resemble kettle drums, creating a fresh and captivating rhythm for the listener.

The drum-beating ceremony is one of the many ways that Iranians celebrate the Persian New Year.

Nowruz is a time of new beginnings, and the drum-beating ceremony reminds us of the importance of coming together and celebrating as a community.
